Discovery Call

Determine whether this recurring problem is worth deeper investigation
Some problems are inconvenient. Others repeatedly consume profit, management attention and organisational capacity. The Discovery Call is a complimentary 30-minute conversation to understand the recurring problem, what has already been tried and whether the issue is significant enough to warrant deeper investigation.
It is best attended by a CEO, CFO, Board Director or executive sponsor who understands the history and commercial significance of the problem. Where several recurring issues exist, we can also consider which one deserves attention first.
The call gives you an opportunity to understand how Karamawari works, challenge our approach and decide whether a smaller specialist firm is the right fit for the problem. If we do not believe deeper work is justified, we will say so. There is no obligation to proceed.
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 30 minutes
Outcome: A clear view of which recurring problem is most worth investigating, why it matters commercially and whether Karamawari is the right fit.
Cost Calculation Workshop

Build a commercially credible estimate of what recurrence is costing the organisation
The visible incident is rarely the whole cost. Recurrence can create remediation, downtime and rework, but it can also consume management attention, absorb employee capacity, delay strategic priorities, create customer friction, increase risk and divert investment from more productive uses.
The Cost Calculation Workshop is a complimentary one-hour executive workshop designed to estimate the commercial cost of the recurring problem. Working with relevant C-level executives, we examine the direct costs, less visible consequences, frequency of recurrence and what the organisation may continue to lose if the problem remains unresolved.
The objective is not to manufacture a large number. It is to create an estimate leadership can explain, challenge and use. That provides the economic basis for deciding whether deeper investigation is justified and whether a Karamawari engagement makes commercial sense.
Prerequisites: None
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Outcome: A commercially credible estimate of the cost of recurrence and a baseline against which the value of further action can be judged.
Problem Diagnosis

Understand why the problem has survived previous fixes
Most recurring problems persist because the organisation keeps responding to the visible outcome while something important remains capable of recreating it. Previous solutions may have been entirely reasonable for the problem as it was understood at the time.
Problem Diagnosis is Karamawari’s core engagement. Over several weeks, we work with the people connected to the problem — those involved in creating, managing, experiencing and responding to it. We treat their knowledge as evidence to be connected and tested, not replaced by an external answer.
We reconstruct what has happened, separate what is known from what has been assumed, and identify the small set of organisational factors and decision patterns that best explain why the problem keeps returning.
The objective is not another account of what went wrong. It is a shared, evidence-based explanation of why the problem has persisted and what any credible response must address before more significant investment is committed.
Prerequisite: Cost Calculation Workshop
Duration: Typically several weeks
Outcome: A shared, evidence-based diagnosis of why the problem persists and what a successful response needs to address.
Solution Validation

Independent challenge before you commit to implementation
Independent challenge before you commit to implementation
Understanding the problem changes the quality of the solution your organisation can design. Karamawari deliberately does not design that solution for you. Your people know the organisation, constraints, systems and operating environment better than we ever will, and ownership matters when change has to work in practice.
Instead, Karamawari acts as an independent challenger. Across up to five workshops, we test the proposed solution against the diagnosis: whether it addresses what is keeping the problem alive, whether critical assumptions remain untested, whether the response depends on conditions unlikely to hold, and whether any part simply treats the visible symptom again.
The purpose is not to certify a perfect solution. It is to expose weaknesses before significant investment is committed and increase confidence that the proposed response is aimed at the diagnosed problem.
Prerequisites: Cost Calculation Workshop and Problem Diagnosis
Duration: Up to five one-hour workshops
Outcome: An internally developed solution independently challenged against the diagnosis before implementation.
Solution Accountability

Keep implementation connected to the problem you set out to solve
A well-diagnosed problem and a well-designed response improve the basis for action, but implementation introduces new pressures, competing priorities and compromises. Milestones can be met while the original problem survives underneath.
Through weekly accountability meetings, Karamawari provides independent challenge to the delivery team: reviewing progress, surfacing material deviations and testing whether implementation remains consistent with the diagnosis and intended outcome.
The key question is not only “Are we delivering the project?” It is “Are we changing what needs to change for recurrence to become less likely?”
Success is not project completion alone. It is credible evidence that the response is changing what previously allowed the problem to return.
Prerequisites: Cost Calculation Workshop, Problem Diagnosis and Solution Validation
Duration: Weekly throughout implementation
Outcome: Independent accountability focused on whether implementation remains connected to problem resolution, not merely project completion.
